Drum & Bass Arena Awards
Ortofon were thrilled to become a headliner sponsor of one of the most exciting new events in the DJ awards calendar in 2009. Widely recognised as the global voice of Drum & Bass, Drum & Bass Arena finally took industry advice and started their own DJ awards ceremony, where the finest players in the scene were recognised by the public as the best in their game. As one of the few remaining music scenes still strongly committed to vinyl preservation, not to mention Henley Pro's ongoing relationship with D&B TV, the link-up was a natural step for both brands. Ortofon's involvement encompassed sponsoring the Best New DJ Award, co-hosting the VIP room, and ensuring all performers on the night (including Goldie, Fabio, Grooverider and LTJ Bukem) got the finest possible sound from their appearances, by completely kitting out Ministry of Sound with Ortofon cartridges. All the excitement of the event, due to take place on August 13th, was captured on film to later be aired on Ortofon's ever-increasing database of vinyl-loving DJ activites, Ortofon TV. The Drum & Bass Arena Awards took place on August 13th at Ministry of Sound, and saw the world's finest D&B DJs congregate in the capital for a first-class party. With the award ceremony featuring appearances by Beardyman and Diane Charlegmagne, and the after party seeing the likes of LTJ Bukem and Goldie tear up the dancefloor, this event was one not to be missed... The final list of winners was... BEST DJ: ANDY C
