Skratchworx give high-praise to the Ortofon-Serato S-120

This week has seen one of the finest endorsements of the brand new Ortofon-Serato S-120 DJ cartridge, courtesy of the internationally influential Skratchworx online review site.

Gizmo at Skratchworx has truly attempted to get ‘under the skin’ of the new cartridge; even going to the point of pulling apart the stylus to photograph the new asymmetric rubber suspension.

Gizmo uses a number of different analogies to help simplify the complex micro-physics going on within the asymmetric suspension – truly helping justify the cartridges claims of reduced record-wear and ultimate record-hold.

There are two additional Ortofon features which have also been tagged onto the review; one is a more scientific explanation of asymmetric suspension, while the other is an excellent document detailing how (and why) a cartridge is made.
